Only a tuff truck would have the bed and cab flex like that.


With lockers front and rear this thing wheels amazing,but some bigger tires would be nice.

Of course I had to have a poser shot.

It's Gettin' There

The latest on the jeep. It actually is starting to look pretty good.Well it better be because I spent a crapload of time on it.

Just did the tire carrier this week ,turned out better than i thought.

A look of the finished bed area with the new tail lights. The gas filler hose points down a little and leaks when i fill the tank, but not bad for an amateur. And you can see the sweet tool box that i got from work. It used to be a fender one but i cut the bottom flat and welded a floor in. It works perfect.

New Features

I finally have a top. I got the bikini top from Jess for free and i used the front hoop of the old roll cage for the new main hoop. It took a while to grind off all the electrical and sports tape that has been on there for who knows how long. I used some 2x4 tubing to mount the roll bar to which is then tied into the frame for strength. It is also a good start to build the rest of the bed.

I am going to run a piece of tall angle iron along th bottom to act as a rock slider and it will cover the spot where I cut out the rust.

I got rid of the old, ugly exhaust and had Mesa Muffler run new exhaust run from the manifold back and inside the frame. It is 2.5'' exhaust with a Flowmaster Super 44 .

It is tucked under nice and out of sight

I put new spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, new coil, a new speedometer, a sending unit and a tranny mount.

A Tribute to the Dodge

I thought I would post some pictures of the Dodge to remember the good times I had in it.

I hope the new owner has as much fun with the dodge as i did.

STINGER

I cut the stinger off the bumper that was on my truck and made some new mounts for the jeep. The welds look horrible but they hold. I'm still getting the hang of the stick welder.It looks better on the jeep than it did on my truck.

The Latest

I've got a lot of work left to do but it is coming along. .

I'm cutting the seats out so i can put a bench seat in. I got the seat from my work in a storage room next to my shop. It was left behind from the dude who worked there before me. I don't know why it was there but it is going to work perfectly.

The 1.5'' wheel spacers on the front help out alot. It doesn't rub at all when I turn.It also seems to have a little bit better handling.

I grinded the bondo off the fenders and painted them. the don't look the greatest but better than nothing.

Im still thinking of a what to do the floor in the back. Any suggestions?

Looking Good

The latest pics of the jeep.They're not very good because my camera sucks.I grinded all the paint and bondo off and started to spray flat black. I also started to weld the rear panels back on.
I got some seats from Jess and i need to make mounts and put them in. They're junky but better than the ones in it.

I flat fendered the front fenders. It looks good and gives me a little more clearance.

I hacked the back off because it too far gone with rust , dents and cracks.I am going to make a new one with 1 1/2'' tubing and diamond plate. It will be alot stronger and more clearance.

Dalin will probably cry when he sees this.

Progress

The jeep looks alot better after taking the fenders and the roll cage off.It will probably be like this for a while untill i get money for steel to build a new roll cage and tube fenders.There is so much that needs to be welded.And rust that needs to be cut out and new pieces welded in.
It has the interior of a show jeep.

The back passenger side fender is barely hanging on and is covered in bondo.


The exhaust hangs so low and ugly. It needs to be redone and tucked up higher somehow and some sliders need to be made.

I had to put this picture because it looks like a Bryan Adams cd.



I was going to make the jeep nice, but after giving it a once over i'll just patch it up, lift it a little higher and put some lockers in it.

1973 Cj6

This is my new purchase. It is a 1973 Cj6 with a 304 V-8 that runs. It is in rough shape but nothing a little tlc can't fix. I bought it from my cousin DayDay for $500. These are some ideas of what i want mine to eventually look like.

Some mods i want to do are a spring over, 33'' or 35''MTRs, new roll cage, and new exhaust. But that will be later on after I do the little things to get it wheelable.
